In this session, we will present an overview of the FCDO-funded VAWG case studies that are being collaboratively conducted by the International Security and Development Center (ISDC), the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Syria Resilience Initiative (SRI) in Syria. The panelists will then discuss what we have learned about reducing VAWG in fragile and conflict-affected settings so far? Why is it crucial to conduct such studies in a setting like Syria? What are the ethical and practical challenges in implementing studies and programmes to reduce VAWG? How can we better incorporate evidence and learning to design future programming and interventions.
